Security forces are openly following Poroshenko at the behest of the authorities – a journalistic investigation

Ukrainian law enforcement agencies are conducting illegal surveillance of the fifth President of Ukraine, the leader of the European Solidarity Party, Petro Poroshenko. 
This is stated in the journalistic investigation of Pryamiy.
The monitoring of Petro Poroshenko and the members of the “EU” team has been going on for more than a year, this was stated by the people’s deputies and the lawyers of the fifth President.
In particular, during Petro Poroshenko’s regular trip on January 19, 2024, to the Donetsk region, where he brought a consignment of equipment for Ukrainian defenders worth 40 million hryvnias, suspicious persons were recorded following his movements while moving between locations and during communication with our soldiers.
“This is far from the first and, it seems, not the last time of illegal surveillance of the leader of the opposition.  These uninvited “tourists” accompany Poroshenko on virtually all trips to the front,” the journalists note.
 
Investigators claim that Ukrainian special services are following Poroshenko at the front.  “Each time, the employees are different, but it is not difficult to recognize them: cars with cover plates, tactical clothing, a chest bag, a stocky build, and a complete lack of understanding of why they are here,” they note.
Journalists recalled that on December 1, 2023, Ukrainian border guards, contrary to the law, did not allow Petro Poroshenko to go on an important foreign business trip.  “On this day, the fifth President was also illegally followed.  Poroshenko was accompanied from his home to the border by a suspicious car with Security Service agents inside,” the investigation says.
Illegal monitoring of the opposition leader in “European Solidarity” was publicly announced back in 2020.  At that time, the external surveillance of the special services of the house of the Poroshenko family near Kyiv was recorded.  “Unknown cars containing unknown people who refused to introduce themselves and name themselves were spotted near his house.  As for the numbers on these cars, such numbers do not exist in nature.  These are cover numbers.  And it confirms the fact that Petro Poroshenko is being illegally followed,” Artur Gerasimov, co-chairman of the Eurosolidarity faction, said at the time.
Poroshenko’s lawyers even managed to open criminal proceedings regarding illegal surveillance.
“During these years, illegal surveillance was carried out not only on Poroshenko personally and the office of “European Solidarity”.  In the same way, the members of the fifth president’s team also recorded the “outside” behind them.  In particular, agents of the special services, who were monitoring the combat general Viktor Kononenko, were caught red-handed.  On November 26, 2023, an employee of the Security Service tried to plant a bug in the home of the People’s Deputy of “European Solidarity” Oleksii Honcharenko.  Criminal proceedings have also been opened for this fact.  But it is difficult for the investigation to appoint extremists when the main customer of these repressions is sitting on Bankova,” – note the investigators.
As it became known, special services during the war were used to monitor not only the leader of the opposition but also journalists who went beyond the marathon.  At the beginning of this year, a loud scandal broke out about the wiretapping and illegal video recordings by the Security Service of Ukraine of the Bigus.info team of investigative journalists.
“Ukrainians pay tens of billions of hryvnias out of their own pockets every year so that during the war, on the order of the ruling cabinets, the special services spent resources not to counter Russian aggression, but to illegally monitor the leader and members of the opposition or Ukrainian journalists,” the authors of the investigation emphasize.
